Although an unnecessary reboot (considering that Spider-Man 3 was only about 5 years ago now), The Amazing Spider-Man is a great reboot! We go back to basics with Spider-Man, learn his origin once more and although it feels familiar it feels new too. The special effects are great and the fight sequences are fast and furious and more like the fights I imagine when reading the comics. The old trilogy was a great series of movies, and this is a great new start as it feels a lot closer to the source material than the Raimi trilogy. I clapped quite a few times when Spidey does things you see him do in the comics (web his injuries, wise-crack, etc). Both the new leads are brilliant and I am looking forward to seeing more of them! One thing that I felt was a let down was the music... It didn't really have the punch of the original Spidey movies and certain scores felt out of place at times, but it doesn't really make the movie less watchable. A great new vision on a 50 year old license!
